Daily Devotional

Son, what have I done to make My people tired of me? O my people, what have I done to you?  Don’t they realize that I have done everything I could to teach them about My faithfulness. I told them what is good, and what I require of them: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with Me.

My voice calls to everyone, for I am not partial. Not many want to know Me, and gain My wisdom. To find My wisdom will not be a simple matter because My wisdom is reserved for those who know its eternal value. Those who do not listen to Me will have My words hidden from them.  Those who do not remember what they have heard from Me, will not understand and know what to do. The gathering of vultures reveals that there is a carcass nearby, but these people will miss the signs that indicate the end is near because they have not listened to Me and adhered to My words.

People who are at ease should not mock those who are in trouble. Those who become rich through extortion and violence, and know how to manipulate others to get what they want – should tremble at what is coming against them. They think I don’t know how they twist justice with lies. People have become so used to lying that their tongues no longer know how to tell the truth.

So son, you should always pray to Me with faith in what I have said to you, and never give up. When you cry out to Me day or night, I will not put you off.

Remember these simple truths for your life: those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. What is impossible for man is possible with Me. I am the source of peace and joy, and to fear Me is the beginning of wisdom.

Lord, You have been for me – all my life, even when I was behaving foolishly. Your discipline in my life has allowed me to understand Your love and wisdom. I know the sound of Your voice and the prodding of Your powerful right hand. You are My faithful Shepherd and I praise You.
