The gifts Christ gave to the church is to equip God’s people to do His work and build up the body of Christ, so that they will no longer be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching; they will not be influenced by people of this world (media, and politicians) who try to trick them with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, the body of Christ must speak the truth in love, and let everything they say be good and helpful, so that our words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

Is the church confused today? Are the words spoken – encouraging? Is the church believing the lies told to us today by the media and our politicians? Remember, the Body of Christ has more gifts than just those of pastors and teachers.

When we asked Jesus into our hearts He gave each one of us a gift, and all of the gifts are needed to build up the body of Christ. When we say some gifts can’t be used, or say they are no longer for our day, we bring confusion to the body of Christ, and the church becomes weak, accepting the lies of the world as truth.
